Paul Cameron, Chairman
Chairman of the Board
Paul Cameron graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1976, and received a BS in Agriculture from Cal Poly in 1981. He was a Farm Manager for Dan Cameron Livestock from 1981 to 1994. Since 1996, he has been the owner of Paul Cameron Ranches, and the President and GM of Mesquite Cattle Feeders.
Paul Cameron is the Past Chairman of the Coalition of Ag, Labor and Business, and serves as a member of the Brawley High School FFA Advisory Board. He also currently chairs the California Cattlemen’s Association Feeder Council.
Paul Cameron’s other favored activities include mountain biking, hunting in Mexico, and travelling with his wife of more than 30 years, Debbie Cameron.
Jaime Honold, Imm. Past Chair
Immediate Past Chair
Jaime Honold is the owner of Burgers and Beer. After attending high school in Mexico, he studied Business Administration at Imperial Valley College and San Diego State University.
In addition to sitting on the board of the Imperial Valley Community Foundation, he is currently the Vice President of the El Centro Chamber of Commerce, he is an active member of the Rotary Club of Yuma and Los Vigilantes. Mr. Honold received an award for Family-Owned Business of the Year from Small Business Administration.
He is married with four children. He enjoys golf, tennis, running, mountain biking, snow and water skiing, riding motorcycles, travelling, and managing the family business.
Aaron Popejoy, Vice Chair

Aaron Popejoy is a native of the Imperial Valley. His family's presence in El Centro spans five generations and represents over a century of businessmen and women in Imperial County. Aaron attended Central Union High School and Imperial Valley College before receiving his Bachelor of Arts & Sciences Degree in design from San Diego State University. Upon graduation he returned to El Centro to continue practicing the profession he had begun years earlier. Aaron is the founder and creative director of Conveyor Group, a strategic brand communications and custom website development firm established in 1997. With over 20 years of industry experience, Aaron has accomplished award-winning work for clients large and small. As a dedicated community advocate, Aaron has served as president of the El Centro Rotary Club and the El Centro Chamber of Commerce as well as chairman of the Imperial Valley Joint Chambers of Commerce. He currently serves as a board member for the Imperial Valley Arts in Motion Council (IVAIM), and as a committee member and advisor for numerous local organizations and educational programs. In January of 2012, Aaron was recognized by the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation (IVEDC) with their Leader of the Year award. Aaron currently resides in El Centro with is wife and their two sons. Together they are slowly restoring a mid-century modern home and are collecting period-correct furnishings and decor to showcase their passion for art and architecture. Above all, Aaron enjoys spending time with his family.

Tim Kelley received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications Arts and Sciences from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California. He has also studied abroad in Morelia, Mexico.
He has been the President and CEO of the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation (IVEDC) since 2005. He sits on the Board of Directors for the United States Commercial Services (USCS) District Export Council, and the California Association of Local Economic Development (CALED). He is also the President of Team California, a statewide organization that promotes trade and economic development in California.
He sits on several other boards, including the Brawley Community Foundation, Imperial County Workforce Development Board, the P-16 Education Council, World Trade Center San Diego, and Clean Tech San Diego. He is also involved with the Boy Scouts of America, Brawley Rotary Club, and the Brawley Elks Lodge.
He has received awards from USCS and CALED, including prizes for Economic Development programs and an Award of Excellence for Economic Development partnerships.
His hobbies include gardening, travelling, boating, and cooking. He lives in Brawley with his wife Marisa.
Fidel Gonzalez, Treasurer
Fidel Gonzalez is President/CEO of First Imperial Credit Union. He serves as the Treasurer of the Foundation.
In addition to serving on the board of the Imperial Valley Community Foundation, Fidel also serves on the boards of the El Centro Police Activities League and the Imperial Valley College Foundation. He is also a member of the Imperial Valley Breakfast Rotary Club.
John Kennerson, CPA, Secretary

John Kennerson was born in Brawley on October 30, 1954, to John & Betty Kennerson, and today is a resident of El Centro. He is married to Cathy Kennerson. Together, they have one child, their daughter Kaylie.
His practice area consists mainly of offering tax compliance & planning, accounting, business consulting and estate planning services to closely-held business. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and is a Principal with Swain & Kennerson.
His educational experience includes Imperial Valley College, 1972-74, San Diego State University, 1974-76 with a B.S. in Business Administration, San Diego State University, 1980-81, with an M.S. in Taxation. He is also a recipient of the AICPA Certificate of Educational Achievement - Taxation of Closely Held Businesses.
His civic engagement activities include current or previous membership of Kiwanis Club of El Centro, Los Vigilantes (Official Greeters - El Centro Chamber of Commerce), Imperial Valley Workforce Investment Board, El Centro Regional Medical Center, and the City of El Centro.
He is actively involved in the California Society of CPA’s (CalCPA), having held office as President. He has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) since August, 1978, as a member of the Taxation, Information Technology & Management Consulting Sections. He has numerous articles published in national, state, and local periodicals on tax and related accounting topics.
Dr. Ted Affue
Cliff Caldwell graduated from Calexico Union High School in 1964, University of California at San Diego in 1969 with a degree in Economics, and University of California at Los Angeles Law School in 1972. He was admitted to practice law in California in 1973, and has practiced in United States Tax Court, United States Court of Claims, California Supreme Court, and United States Supreme Court. He has been involved in areas of business and corporate law, estate planning and tax law in Imperial County since 1973. In earlier years, he taught about wills, trusts, and probate at Imperial Valley College. He has been practicing law in Imperial County for 39 years.
He is a Past President of several organizations, including the Imperial County Bar Association, El Centro Rotary, and the El Centro Chamber of Commerce. He has also been a board member of the Boy Scouts of America, Desert Trails Council, and ARC of Imperial Valley. He is currently a board member of the Imperial Valley Community Foundation and of D.A.V. Industries, serving Disabled American Veterans & Families in San Diego.
His preferred hobby is golf, and he has participated in the Cotton Golf Tournament in Mexicali for more than 40 years.
Dr. Richard GutierrezDr. Richard Gutierrez grew up in Seeley and attended Central Union High. He obtained his dental degree from Loma Linda University School of Dentristry, and Graduate school at Loma Linda University.He has served on the boards of the Imperial Valley Literacy Volunteers, El Centro Regional Memorial Hospital Foundation, and the El Centro Chamber of Commerce. He is currently a Rotary member and participant in the Star Program.The City of El Centro recognized his business with the Imagine Award. He has also received the Loma Linda University Alumni Association Hispanic Alumni of the Year award.When time permits, he enjoys boating, flying, and guitar playing. His family, wife, Agueda, children, Dianna, Andrea, Mia, and Carlo reside in Calexico.
Ellie Kussman received a BA in Biology Wheaton College, Norton, Massachusetts, and later received an MS in Results Systems Management at La Verne CA. She is credentialed in California to teach K-Community College, and also has experience in Counseling and Guidance and Administration. In total, she has a 40 year career in all levels of education including supplementary teaching at Community College and graduate level. She is now retired. Her last position was 10 years as Superintendent of Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP).
She is currently a board member for the foundation, formerly a Board Secretary. She has been a part of the El Centro Rotary since 1989, and the Women's Ten Thousand Club since 2000.
She has received numerous leadership awards ranging from the Private Industry Council, State Regional Occupational Association to the Phi Delta Kappa (educator's fraternity) (lV Chapter) Educator of the year.
Her hobbies include long term travel in her motor home, world travel, horse activities of all kinds, bridge, reading, gardening, and water aerobics.
She has been a resident of the El Centro area for longer than 50 years. She has 2 daughters, one living locally, the other in Ione, CA. She also has grandchildren living in Michigan, Oklahoma, and Northern California.
Richard Preciado, CPA
Richard Preciado, CPA is the Managing Partner of Hutchinson & Bloodgood, LLP, an accounting and consulting firm.
Robert RubioRobert Rubio is a Board Member and Secretary of the Imperial County Workforce Development Board as well as a new board member of the Imperial Valley College Foundation. He is also Current Member of the School site council for Calexico High School.He is a current board Member and Past Chairman of the Imperial Valley Joint Chambers of Commerce as well as Board Member and Past Chairman to the Calexico Chamber of Commerce. His community involvement includes being a member and two times Past President of the Calexico Elks and past District Chairman of Elks California-Hawaii Elks Organization.Additionally, he is a Past Committee member for the San Diego State University 50th Anniversary, and past President for the Calexico PAL organization.He is the Co-Owner and Printing Consultant for Imperial Printers, a company that has been in the Imperial Valley for over 110 years. He has been in the Printing industry for over 27 years. Despite a busy schedule, he is still able to find time to enjoy playing Tennis and golf.His education includes Hartnell College in Salinas, CA, Irvine College in Irvine, CA, and IVC in Imperial, CA.He is software certified in: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark Express and Page Maker.
